Blend soup with an immersion blender in the pot until smooth. Heat the butter in a large soup pot over medium-high heat. Stir in flour until blended; gradually add chicken broth.

- Prepare 28 oz and Marzano peeled tomatoes crushed by hand
- Prepare 2 cups chicken stock
- Get 3 large garlic cloves chopped
- Get 2 medium carrots chopped
- Take Half yellow onion chopped
- Get 3 tbsp butter
- Prepare Salt and sugar
- Take Heavy cream or half and half
Heat butter and oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-low heat. Tomato Bisque goes so well with so many dished, but being brainwashed as a child my first thoughts are to a great grilled cheese sandwich! But it is also a great first course for just about any meal! Instructions to make Tomato bisque:
- Melt the butter and add the carrots and onions until onions are soft, then add garlic until fragrant
- Add the tomatoes, chicken stock,2 tbsp dried basil, 2 bay leaves and a few pinches of salt and sugar, cover and simmer for about 30 minutes on low.
- Pull off the heat and let cool for a bit. Use a stick blender until smooth and then taste for seasoning, put the pot on medium heat and add salt to taste, finish with a touch of cream or to taste.
In a large saucepan, bring first five ingredients to a boil. Add the chicken stock, tomatoes, tomato paste and sugar and bring to a boil.
